I add another swivel to my MB 550's then 16" of chain to a super stake. Like to keep them short and haven't had any problems yet.

I’m a fan of keeping it short within reason. Got to be able to move it away from the bed once it’s staked down. If the trap I get has good chain I’ll cut it in half and put a swivel in the middle.

We have to have 3 swivels to be legal here in the lynx zonea.One swivel at each end and a swivel midway on the chain.I also like about 18 inches of chain.
