But still scraping and boarding. Hope to have most pelts done in time to send north… not that I expect much for them but to get them gone lol.

Lots of castor from Vermont run but enough from here to make a nice mix. Just under 16 lbs total. Not something I want to do again, but something I won’t forget.

April is autism awareness month. Nearly 1 in every 100 children are born with an autism spectrum disorder.. 1 in 100. Stop and think about it...please

That's how it's done. Good job. Castor buyers like to see them look like that.

Exactly -- I didn't sort mine for the otc sale - will see how it did. Tried a different (for me) stretch on the beaver ---- don't think I will do that again. I know that my finished product was not perfect - but I broke my wrist September and had a little more difficult time processing than usual. Seems I always have an excuse for everything. grin It is a castor market at this point -but i think it is improving. wink

I ended up with 25 lbs of dry castor from 118 beaver. Real close to 5 beaver to the lb.

Thanks you BP. And you certainly are an authority on the water pigs. Now if I can just get them all scraped and boarded I can clean up for the year.

If I counted correctly, I skinned around 90 to get the 15lb, 11oz. Not all had castors worth removing. A few small i set aside for lure, but that’s the rest in the pic. Had a few between 8 and 10 oz

Yours and BP's ave seems to fall exactly in what I figure --- 4-6 beaver per pound.
