Nice to know this classic lever gun is still being produced. I think ruger marlin 336's are slowly becoming available

Glad ruger bought them. Sorry Ruger just went up in price because of it. Ruger used to be the working man's gun with prices in the medium range. Now they are as expensive as al get out.

I have actually seen one in a shop, they were asking 1900 dollars for it so obviously taking advantage of scarcity as that is way above MSRP. With that said the fit and finish was very nice and the action was smooth, price aside, where I think Ruger dropped the ball is the finish is so highly polished it is literally like a mirror. It would make a better user gun if they had put the matte finish that they used to use on their M77 stainless varmint rifles. I sure couldn't see paying 1900 dollars for one but obviously some people are.

I have a couple of the old JM marlins, they were great guns. The Remingtons were junk......Ive heard the Rugers are the best yet.
