My go to are 160 Belisle for fisher and marten. I'm sure 155s will work fine. Had to many refusals with 120s so went to 160s.

As are 120's with pan triggers. I have been using pans on 120 traps for many years placed within 4-5" of the bait for fisher and get a consistent humane catch virtually every time. The reason being that they are stable at the bait and standing on the pan or bumping it with their chest or head while working the bait, NOT MOVING through the trap to get to the bait. You will get a neck catch on the fisher every time.
The pan trigger setup provides an open entry space without any trigger wires in their face that may deter them from entering thru the trap.

In PA we can only harvest one fisher if you bought the additional permit, per year… I’ve been fortunate enough to catch 3 in the last 5 years, and my ‘go to’ is a 160 in a cubby box. PA really restricts what you can use, and the cubby opening cannot exceed 50 square inches, so a 160 fits in there just right!

Furture to my previous post, in over 20 years trapping fisher I have never seen one fail to enter a 120 elevated box set, on a leaning tree or pole set, when it has climbed to the box. But I have seen them not climb the tree or pole for unknown reasons.

I was one for bigger body grippers for fishers like the 220. Last season I went to the 160 and had great luck with them. Here in Minnesota we can take 2 if we are lucky in a 9 day season. Was lucky enough to get both of mine with the 160's and both right behind the ears. They didn't hardly move.

Work great if you spread the triggers out wide and up away from the trap when set.

I certainly am not an expert fisher trapper, but my 120 Belisles with wood pans sure smack the snot out of them. I follow bctomcats method, bait is 4 inches from the set trap in my boxes. Works very consistently on the marten, which I built them for.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

I was mainly targeting marten and using 120's I had a few refusals from male fisher mainly so I went to the 155's,there almost perfect for both.If I didn't have marten I would run 100% 160's with hardwood pans Belisle.
