I saw an Alaska weather forecast the other day. It said the jet stream would shift south over Japan and north over central Alaska and over me in Northern Canada. Bringing much warmer wetter weather right into Mid-October. Any one have any updates on that. The forecast also said the Alaska Panhandel would be much drier as the jet stream shifts north.

Looks like might be able to trap beaver with boat when it opens October 15!

That's a bummer, I enjoyed last October's early and hard freezeup.

Could it mean more snow and early for the interior?

Isn’t that common for Juneau? Or does it usually drizzle like the times I have been there?

It also said that it could suck over the remains of cyclones and typhoons from the south pacific.
More dry Alaska Panhandle is for mid September and October.
Im hoping the south west winds will push the Tukapuk Lake Caribou herd this way. Nice big caribou in that herd. Bigger than the porkys. Plus the boat beaver trapping is lots of fun.

The snow doesn't usually stay anyway until after Halloween so a few more days is okay!

Ryan Mcleod i really want to clean out them beaver lodges in Uvavialuk and moose river. Bring on the Pineapple Express!!!! Better get your fish eggs and etsegoho now be no under ice fish net until November. Be all spawned out by then. Trapping season start just in time for Christmas mandatory leave days. Im OK with that, so long as deep snow in the mountains again.

Oh Snap: if usually after Halloween then November 15.

Drizzle is of course common, here. However the past 2 years we have had a number of "atmospheric rivers" that bring a big dump of rain, sometimes lasting for a couple days.
Rivers and creeks flood, bays turn brown, fish eggs get blown out, along with the dead salmon that would normally fortify the streams.

That explains all the rain weve been getting. Very wet on the west coast.

Nasty weather here on the Yukon. Heard a barge sunk last night in Napakiak on the Kuskokwim.
