This may be an odd question but has anybody ever setup their traps with multiple staking options? I have the double stake swivels on my bridger #2s but considered adding a 18" cable with wolf fang as well. Main reason is I don't have enough rebar stakes for 2 dozen traps and/or may be using them with my coon traps. Is this something that will work?

Yes, most of mine are set up with double stake swivel and a length of cable with some earth anchor model. In lat winter rebar drives in easy and much easier to extract than ground anchors. Dig a small depression under the trap in the bed and the chain and the double stake swivels fit well under the trap with a layer of waxed dirt. If I cut the cable cause I can’t retrieve the earth anchor I can still use that trap elsewhere on that farm with a pair of rebar stakes to anchor.
Just how mine are mostly set up now.
My bigger number fours also have a swivel and I can use that swivel as a drowner lock.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I use Quick Links to swap out for double stacking or earth anchors or drags. I do set up for both double staking and earth anchors, and just grab what I need for the conditions, but almost all my traps have Quick Links.

I considered using the quick links for my earth anchor cables. Worse case scenario I can't get a anchor out I could undo the link and still have a trap to use, retrieve cable later.

Some of mine have a conners chestnut ring on the end of the chain.

Double stake, cable stake loop, or quick link chain stake can all be done. As could a quick link to drag chain.

Just need to make sure the cable has a large enough loop. But I'm not fond of the chestnut ring as it's to large for most 3/8 stakes with only a nut on top. Half inch or washer top is fine though.

If I can find some passing link chain that's just wide enough to fit 1/2 rebar I'll replace the chestnut with three links of passing link hooked to the middle link.

this----- quick links locally 3$ apiece ! online .75 or so---- drags with chains , wolf fangs many options ALSO I have extension chains to add to a trap after a catch to move set out of catch circle but use original anchor, saves time and pounding another anchor in

FNT has them for 42 dollars a 100. And e Rigging . Com. Has them for about 38 dollars a 100. So 3/16s bought in bulk os the way to go

So off my last swivel I add 3 links of cain and quick link. Under normal circumstances I use the quick link to my Wolf fang or drag. If I suspect theft might be a problem I loop or crimp the cable of the wolf fang right to the chain. I had somebody try and steal two of my traps last year and this method stopped them.
