I live in North East Ohio . I know the people at three different tree services . They give away all logs over about 30 inches in diameter . They even deliver it to you free . All are having trouble finding places to dump the wood . Just had three large truck loads of oak logs brought in this week . The guy thanked me for letting him bring them to me . A pain to process , and will not be ready till next year ,but it's free and keeps on coming . Got lucky on this last load . One of the oaks was a standing dead tree . Lots of dry wood for this Winter from it . My Nephew and his Grandson cut and split the big stuff for me . I just have to pull the 80 years old and worn down routine . LOL . They know I do what I am able too . Have never bought fire wood in over 40 years of heating with wood .

So the price is just a "little" elbow grease? Perfect.

Ohiosnareman if your guys ever get work over in Western Pa I've got room for wood.
Know what you mean about big trees being work. They warm you up several times.

Been busting it, maybe ten cord ready, good feeling.
I might go grab some coal.

If you're cutting it, big wood is a lot less work than small wood. I hate cutting the little 6-8" rounds. In fact I pretty much won't cut anything under 18" on the butt, but do end up cutting it up to the top where you have the small rounds.
