Heard OPEC was cutting production. Gas prices went up around here yesterday. Most I've seen is $3.84. Most stations are at $3.79. Couldn't happen at a better time with the mid-terms coming up. Hopefully, those on the fence will realize this will hit the middle class the hardest.

We have gas stations here that keep mechanics busy because of not maintaining their systems.

That time of year where they switch from summer fuel to winter fuel. Happens every year! This does happen but the Winter prices were always lower. Not any more.

The OPEC meeting doesn't happen until tomorrow. I suspect they WILL cut production......and I hope they do !
Oil price is rising slightly because the dollar is weakening slightly.
Just wait until January when the new 16.4 % tax on a barrel of oil kicks in,,,,,,,,complements of those brilliant Democrat economists. Did you realize that if if the feds make the oil companies pay more for the oil they buy, that it will miraculously reduce prices at the pump ?
Neither did I . It's all part of the Inflation Reduction Act.
Oh and lets not forget the new strategy of Biden's when it comes to the strategic petroleum reserve. Sell high, buy back even higher !
The oil market knows those barrels have to be replaced....soon. We are down to a level in the SPR not seen since 1986.

“There's a 16.4 percent tax on imported barrels of oil that are going to increase cost at the gas pump,” warned Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on CNN's State of the Union on Sunday, Aug. 7.
Looks like a tariff?

NOPE. That 16.4% is on imported OR domestic oil IF purchased by US refineries Excerpt from Barron's article. "The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 proposes to reinstate a tax on crude oil and imported petroleum of 16.4 cents a gallon tax starting next January, according to a summary of the measure released by the Senate’s finance committee." https://www.barrons.com/articles/oil-stock-exxon-chevron-manchin-climate-bill-51659351762

The prices have risen because OPEC has cut production and plans to cut it even further. I agree, winter prices are usually lower because the demand is lower. People aren't travelling as much.

Throw regulations at them, attack refineries like they've done to the ones in Illinois and you get what the greenies wanted to push their electric car.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.
