Down here we have 2 prominent ones. One is called "Nose to the ground" i can't remember the other. They have folks all over the state. You call them they send someone out free of charge. They have some awesome tracking dogs. We always"tip" then to cover their gas and some extra.

I don't think it is legal o use a dog to track wounded deer in ND. The would be considered hunting deer with a dog.

In Pa. it is also illegal to track a wounded deer with a dog. I had hit a deer years ago not far from home and couldn't find it. I knew my Aussie could find it as she had crazy skills in a lot of areas. I called the local warden and he said that it is against the law to use a dog to recover a wounded deer. I believe in PA you can used leashed dogs. Know guys that service PA, Ohio and WVa. Only a few states outlaw dog tracking.

Same with many states. I like the idea , a gut shot deer is almost impossible to track , same with bear , and other animals. Seldom a blood trail. Hound hunting deer is getting to the point where it won't exist in a few years. Too many property lines any more.

So these States would rather you let a deer go to waste instead of using a dog to find it? In a way yes, one less deer either way, and leaves the hunter to shoot another. Remember insurance companies back the game laws when it comes to deer.

So these States would rather you let a deer go to waste instead of using a dog to find it? Can we blood trail one onto the neighbors property without written permission here in Georgia?

I don’t believe we can. You could call and ask permission though. We have an agreement with surrounding neighbors, just call first so we’ll know and we’ll do the same.
