We have shot 5 antelope and 1/2 dozen deer with my sons no tracking at all. But we reload 140 grain partition bullets using H4350. For an all around deer and antelope gun at a cheap price What's not to like. I think it has to many bashers lol . It's a fine rifle and a good round.

My best friend has one and I have helped him track several deer shot with his 6.5 "Bleedmore" He must need to learn how to shoot or select the right bullets. Maybe both my 260 is great. Beyond that do you think a 243 sucks how about a 7mm08? 243 100 gr 2950 fps 6mm 7/08 139gr 2900 fps 7mm. 260/ Creedmoor is right in the middle. So if the 6.5 sucks then those nowhere 2 known great deer and proven deer rounds must suck also. Or maybe it's the shooter wanting to blame something else.

I'm in the ground of every rifle and round is a good one some need built some out of the box. Reloading your own rounds and knowing what you are doing is the key.
No matter where you go there you are.

With the right shot placement a .22 will kill a deer. The issue is the 6.5’s are cheap with cheap scopes and parents buy them for their kids who can’t hit a bucket at 50yds, so therefore many wounded deer. CJ is 2 for 2 with his .243, but uses a rest under Dad or Brothers supervision. Plus he takes lots of trigger pulls without ammo, then with ammo. He know where to shoot and will tell you exactly where he hit the deer. The light on our phones has found all his deer we’ve watched drop anyways, lol. He likes to track the blood…thinks it’s cool. That's what I was getting at.its an outstanding round same as the 260 and 6.5 sweet. All 3 are ballistic triplets. So if someone claimed one stinks they all 3 must stink along with all the calibers that are close. Since the speed for example is know world wide for great preformance on game any round pushing the same projectiles at the same speed or faster should be just as good. So if it's not the round and it's not. Rounds on both ends larger and smaller are great for deer like your sons 243. So it must be a poor selection of bullets or a poor preformance by the shooter. I don't no cj's age but congrats to him.

I don't deer hunt or antelope hunt and have only shot one antelope with a 6.5 Grendel and that's my extent of hunting except for birds. I love my Ruger American Predator 6.5 Creedmoor and it's a great target gun, it has custom reloads that I loaded myself, and I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a deer with it if I had to. Brought it out to 625 yards and was still hitting a 12" plate but that isn't a very ethical shot so I didn't practice it much.

Haters, haters, haters. I can take or leave the 6.5 CM but the improvements and changes in accuracy are impressive. I built a 6.5 CM on a Savage model 10 action and put it in a chasy and and a brake on it and it shoots pretty darn good. I don't hunt with it but it is accurate.

They get bad rap, but given the chance with the right bullets. They are a very good deer rifle. We have a few in different models. I carry a Browning X bolt stalker. It’s light, handy and shoots very well. I am shooting a 140 gr sierra SBT loaded with RL 19. Shots have been between 50- 250 yards. All have died very close to where the bullet impacted them. I am sure that I could have done the same thing with any number of calibers, but this combination really works for me. I have not shot mine past 400, that’s far as I can shoot. I have no need to shoot farther, but to each his own.
