I have been seeing them in the 500 range. I would jump on a nice one in the 3 to 400.

in military furniture?

what MK what # where made ?

do you want it as a shooter or collector or a shoot able collector ?

I have seen Ishapores for around 3-350 however they don't have the peep site

if it has been sporterized but has a good barrel more like 250-300

a decent shooter is more like 450ish

collector probably start around 600-700

but the gun markets have been nuts in the last 2 years and if you have the one someone wants it can be a lot more

what Number and Mk decides the price above that

once open a a time in a K-Mart in the US a barrel in the isle full of them for 15 dollars this is what my great uncle told me

approximately the same cost as 2 cases of beer at the time . seems like when I was a kid every project was paid in cases of beer , maybe it was just my uncles that my dad paid in beer

actually a few years ago I got some steel cut for the 4-H kids rifle targets , paid the guy in 2 thirty racks of bush I was told that was his preferred beer it took him about 2 hours on a Saturday morning a friend got the laser time donated but we needed an operator

I have a British 303 in the closet. My brother in law bought it back in the late 80s at a gun shop. They had them in a big cardboard barrel $75 your choice. I guess I might want to pull it out and see what the value is.

if he offered you 500 I expect he thought it was worth 750 or more

the jungle carbines are selling between 500 and 1500 based on what it is, who made it , years , condition

Wow!I paid $250 for it at the NTA convention in Escanaba in 2013(?).The lady I bought it from said she had the bayonet that went with it and she'd give it to me.I never went up her way to get it.I've heard various things about thus models"wandering zero" but I've never had a problem, maybe I didn't take enough shots with it consecutively.Great deer gun!

I grew up in Pennsylvania and started hunting at 12YO in 1968. My dad gave me a 303 Jungle Carbine to hunt with, shot my first deer with that gun, sorry, rifle (my dad was a Marine and he explained what was a rifle and what was a gun). I could barely close the bolt on that rifle the spring was so strong. I remember my dad was hunting with an 03-A3 Springfield with battle sights, a memory I take to my grave.

I say it's a tossup on quality on the old .303s. There was a time back there a surplus .303 was as good as any other WWl battle rifle out there.
But during WWll England's production quality control went way down because of the war expedience. Also, a lot of the WWll .303s were put up 'wet' with out proper cleaning till they were taken out of mothballs and sold on the surplus market.
Past years I've seen .303 barrels shiny with sharp lands but the ones I've looked at lately have dark barrels.
If possible. I'd want to slug the barrel on one before I considered it. They've been picked over.
But then, who knows , you might get one that's been sitting in some ol' boys closet for the last 50 years and is in good shape.

In the early 90's, I picked up a #4 Mk 1 for $99 at A local Boscov's. There were a lot of nicer ones on the rack. But the one I took home was stamped "U.S. PROPERETY" . Did a little research and found out it was made In the U.S. by Savage Arms. Part of the Lend / Lease program in WWii.

Working night shift at a gas station/truck stop back around '80, people were always wanting to pawn stuff of.

One night a guy come in with a carbine that had a flash hidder on it and wanted 50 bucks for it. I didn't want it because I never saw one that shot very good, but he talked me into buying it with a sad story. I sat it in the corner and not more than an hour later a guy saw it........for 90 bucks he left with it, lol.

The only time I shot one it was a friend I work with. I have a range at home so would zero guys rifles for them if they asked.
This thing was in a cheap plastic stock, looked like it had some type of glue all over the stock. It was filthy ant the bolt hard to cycle. It had a very cheap scope and he sent privat partisan sp ammo. I didn't expect much out of it or think much of it to say the least.

Then I shot it. I walked down range and was in disbelief. There was a nice 5 shot 3/4" group at 100. I was now getting excited. Adjusted the scope and tried it again. Holy crap the group stayed nice and was then at point of aim..

I was blown away by how accurate that ugly beat up rifle was with cheap ammo and optic. I should have keep it a few weeks cleaned it up and worked up som loads to really see what it could due . But it was deer season coming up and I didn't want to buy dies for it to play.
The next weekend I got sent a few pictures of 3 deer Jeff shot one or 2 were head shot.

It was an eye opener for me for sure.
