These fish were weighed in first then opened up when questions/validity were raised. These two have received in winnings in the 300 to 400 hundred thousand range in cash and prizes including a boat in the last two years alone. They should be prosecuted to the full extent the law allows. Wish we could do the same with crooks in DC.

Is there proof before this tournament? Were there charges previous to the Sept tourney? Did they get to keep that boat?

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

As far as game laws being broken, the video I saw showed that they had stuffed walleye filets down the throats of some of the walleye they brought to weigh in. Presumably falls under wanton waste.

I just read where Tournaments require a polygraph if they deem necessary. Really, and people are ok with having to take a polygraph to fish in a tournament? That tells the tale on how weird things are anymore. Good night Irene lol...

I haven't heard or read that the tourney required a polygraph to fish in the tournament. I read that in a tournament the previous year, they won and had to take a polygraph to certify their win was legit. One of them failed that condition. Criminals aren't terribly smart as that should have been a warning that people were going to be watching for any irregularities. Like a string of walleyes that should weigh 24 pounds tips the scale to 33? The 33 pound string put them in the lead, but the tourney director (who looks at lots of walleyes) suspected that the weight of there fish were off compared to everyone else's fish, so he hacked one open to find the lead.

Again we aren't dealing with Rhodes Scholars cheating like they did. if you're going to do the crime, do the time. If fraud is a felony, and they are convicted, I don't care if they can never vote or own a gun. They did it willingly to themselves. Nobody made them cheat.

What's really crazy to me is some don't see the parallels. What if some crook kept beating you to your traps and was stealing your $600 bobcats? Or better yet you and a buddy pool your bobcats to sell, unknown to you he claims all the good ones as 'his'? Shoot most folks on here are fuming over an offer of $20 beaver because groeney might sell for $25

I don't read it that way. "To prevent cheating, high-stakes events routinely subject winners to polygraph tests.". Ya can't be a winner until you have fished right?

No. You can't win until they make you prove it via polygraph, at there discretion. Your 2nd sentence sums it up.

Your second sentence here says people are ok with having to take a polygraph to fish .... To me you were implying that the tourney directors give every contestant a poly before they are allowed to cast. I see where we are talking semantics here. all good catch 22. Hopefully no hard feelings. These discussions are what makes than so interesting.

I concur and of course no hard feelings. I think when civil conversations are had between people, it's not only enjoyable, it's fruitful in enlightenment.
