Can somebody post a closeup picture of how the support wire is fastened to the elevation rod and one also of the bottom stake the elevator rod is welded to please. Working on building my version and was curious how they did it.

https://www.fntpost.com/Products/Snare+Supports/Freedom+Brand+Snare+Supports - everything is right there. If you can't copy it with all the info and clear pictures, you better buy some to look over closer.

Personally, I don't feel they would be a great support anyway. They'd get bent up and would not be as solid as I like for holding the snares.

Theyre good in hard ground. Sand or mud...not so much.

They’re great supports, in my opinion better than the other designs as the flat iron part can easily be tapped into frozen ground, and they don’t spin at all. They get bent like the other styles with just a flattened end or washer on bottom, only you can still tap them in from the flat part, instead of trying to tap a bent rod back in from the top, or make a pilot hole which never seem as snug. I prefer the standards over the heavy duty as they are shorter for those grassy trails that are barely tall enough to trail snare. I use them in spots where I can anchor to a sapling or sage and don’t require staking, for open trails that need staked I just use 24” rebar with #9 welded to it.

Is that flat bar or square tubing on the bottom? Hard to tell by the pictures

1/4" rod main body and a little flat bar spade on the bottom. The top wire is basically just tacked on the end to the rod and it's given a few wraps up smile
