OW, you make me laugh.lol

I know a little bit about WW2. I spent a lot of time in a kid on the farm, feeding cows, swathing wheat, sometimes just hanging out, with a guy who drove a tank around Europe from 1942-1945 and stayed on in Europe for a year after the war ended. That guy was my grandpa.
We also found 100s of letters he’d sent home in a box in his farm house when he died. They told some stuff too.
He’d also laugh at your debate ability in line 1 of your post.

My father and uncles were in the war , they seldom talked about it.
But they would all say the government of our country knew what was coming.
No disrespect to you or your grandfather , as he was already involved before my country was.
If you read , those things were mentioned.
And just like a lot of stories any more about history , they've been changed to fit an agenda.

What I find is odd is how some Canadians think that outlawing their rifles and shotguns will never happen?

Yep, they don't see that. It's coming down the pike so it will be up to them. Gonna be interesting for sure.

Yup I agree, I think anyone who thinks our freedom is not under threat or that they won’t come for your 410 and 303 have there head so deep in the sand only their feet are sticking out, that’s not meant to be a shot at anyone on here, just the way I see it.

Just as odd as the Americans who think it is all going to magically go back to how it was. Meanwhile the school is telling their young son he is really a girl.

Apparently that is state or county related incidents. Not happening here or in Florida from the law they just passed.

Not sure if I’ll kill grouse today with a .410 or if I’ll hunt big game with something bigger.

The man queen will be after your .410 and bigger rifles next. Don't forget that.

410 ammo is scarce for a reason

I worry what is going to happen here in the U.S. after the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November

Rvsask, you do realize that most anything on “fact-check” is corrupt, depending on the narrative they are trying to push. It is anything but factual…. Would be the same as using the Onion as a source.

I guess I just cant wrap my brain around how complacent some people are when it comes to the Govt taking things from citizens - freedoms and or material possessions - and then accept it because “it doesnt affect me”. Well, it affects someone. I dont care if they take an AR 15 or a camera or a fishing rod. The point is, that is Govt overreach. Dont EVER be complacent or nonchalant when it comes to the Govt preventing or taking things from it citizens that they have a long history of ownership or possession. You dont get those things back - they just add to the growing list of things we used to have or things we used to do.

Do not willingly give up anything - whether it affects you or not - the easier you make it for your Govt to take something - the more they will do it. I see that with trapping here in the US. States ban the use of leghold traps - and most of the citizens of the state just say “it doesnt affect me”.

Do not EVER be complacent when the Govt takes away a long standing freedom. EVER.

It would be interesting to see the comments from the US citizens here if our Govt just up and banned the sale, purchase, or transfer of all handguns. Not sure any US citizen on the forum would be so complacent - even if they had never owned a handgun. It isnt so much that it is a handgun - it is that the Govt is taking something from you - whatever it is. I think we just have a different mindset than Canadians.

Just had that conversation at coffee yesterday. "Wouldn't bother me........I have no desire to own an AR." Talk about shallow thinking!

My response was that I have no need or desire for an AR either, but absolutely have the desire to retain my right to own one if I did want one.
