So a few days ago I posted on how a critter got out of the live trap.


This was the first one.

The problem there's cats on the property can I use dp's and not get them in the dp's?
Or are there other methods too keep them out of the traps?
My dad also thought about getting a camera to get an eye on the thing that's doing it.
The top picture I threw a bottle in too calm the animal down and keep it distracted and it is absolutely destroyed!

Pretty sandy in that 2nd picture what do the tracks tell you about what it was?

As for avoiding catching cats in a DP try this... two gummy lifesavers on the trigger with some fruity marshmallows under and a few over then use a squirt of cheap cherry ice cream topping in the trap and a trail of it leading to the trap with some of the marshmallows leading to the trap as well. I can't say it's 100% cat proof but I've never caught one using this baiting strategy.

Grape flavored cat food. Apparently they don’t like it cause I ain’t caught none. Grey’s do like it though, lol.

You have very crappy wire on your cage traps. You should toss them and build or buy some better cage traps with heavier gauge wire.

Just curious why you don’t want to catch cats?

The reason I don't want cats in dp's is because the lady's land on which I am removing coons for has them as like pets.

Coon are hard on cheap cages. I had 9 out of 12 cages ate by coon in two months.
