After many years of me telling the wife to quit hugging the kids at the school she works at the inevitable happened. Head lice.
Now I haven't got enough arms and fingers to scratch myself and as I type this I'm itchy from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. I was told a dogs flea and tick shampoo will work in case I've got them. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Crab shampoo. They make a special carb shampoo. Send you wife in for it.

Don't envy you. After a good lice shampoo you will need to wash with hot water and soap all your bedding and upholstery too.

Good luck!

Lol. I know of such a shampoo from many moons ago when I was younger and rutting 24/7. Don't have anything like that handy but I do have some haartmans flea and tick shampoo for the dogs. I figure I'll give it a try.

Seems weekly at the school she gets a email about who has lice. It burns my (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) to say the least. Washing machine is going pretty steady right now.

Question for another day is why don't they listen.

Dog soap is for dogs, not people, says it right on the label.

The ol stand by for lice or crabs , shave half set the other half on fire and stab the live ones with an ice pick as the escape.

Oh boy. Brings back memories of my 1st go around with those little critters. Better told over a campfire with a cold brew in hand.

I'm not eating it or drinking it. I just want to kill bugs with it, but the wife said the same thing. She's the one with the bugs I was just gonna use it as a precaution.

Think I’d ask a Medic more than take advice from here, lol. I hear the local Health Dept doesn’t ask questions and will just give you what you need. At least that’s how it was in the 80’s…so I’ve heard.

Next question. Are crabs and head lice the same?

Yes very embarrassing being 19 and going to the pharmacist asking if psoriasis shampoo was good for crabs.

You got that right. Lol. The embarrassment was no where's close to the burning sensation one has when you figure a good dose of old spice after shave will kill the itchers. Good thing toilet water is cold. Holla yikes.

They sell a treatment for it at walmart. Probably 15 years ago my daughter stayed the night at my moms the same night my sisters had girls sleep over. One of the girls sleeping over had lice. My daughter got them. I think you can use manassas and it suficates them. I think that's what my wife did for my daughter, some and her self. I just shaved my head with a razor and didn't worry about it.

Edit: I use dog flee and tick shampoo on myself when I get into nest of deer ticks. It gets rid of the ticks.

My wife usually comes back with them every time she goes back to the Philippines. It usually takes 2-3 weeks but we spend quality time each night picking nits and making sure no live ones. I’m balding so it doesn’t bother me.

Head lice are supposedly just on the head. You not only have to shampoo your head and wash bedding, you also have to comb your hair with a special comb to get the eggs out. Most schools in Alaska get a case or 2 each year.

Maybe borrow a chimp from the local zoo to pick nits off your head? Be sure to post pics!
