Great job young man. It's easy to cape a deer look it up and go at it. What did you harvest it with? I got it with a 30-30.

Congratulations of your first deer! That is fantastic. I would strongly suggest a European mount. Less than $100 and it won't look like "pooh" in 10 years like many mounts do. Save the shoulder mount for that once in a lifetime buck. Are those real skulls or just "fake" ones?

Those are real. That is all i do as well. You can always have a shoulder mount later if you choose.
Nice job young man.
We need pics.

I would do a European-Style Mount but I would have to saw the antlers off part of the skull.

No sawing. Euro's have skulls and antlers attached, look at the pics again.

congratulations
take lots of pictures and get one framed , I wish I had a picture now of me with my first deer , there might have been one back then maybe
I agree mount the rack or Euro mount , the shoulder mounts are a lot of money and won't necessarily help you remember the event any better.
take more pictures I look back at the few pictures I have of my Grandpa and great uncle from deer hunting and always wish I had taken more.
when ever we were together there was talking , joking , eating or working and not many pictures got taken.
with there no cost of film, make sure you take lots of pictures and get everyone who was with or helped in the photos , you will appreciate those pictures when they aren't with you any more.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

My grandson has the antlers from a couple of his first small deer scattered around his room, they are all memories, don't have to hang on the wall for a memory. Congrats, I was 19 before I killed a deer
