I received my November/December issue of the Trapper's Post today. The drawing by Sharon on the cover of a wolverine with snowy mountains in the background is beautiful. Just wanted to give a shout out.

Good recognition, Paul. In addition, the Fall 2022 issue of "The Idaho Trapper" magazine had a couple more spectacular pieces of art from Miss Sharon (Sorry that my photos don't do them justice). WAY TO GO, SHARON!!!

I am glad you like it, Mr Paul. I was thrilled to be given the loose rein , by Mike, to do this. He wanted a winter mood, so I thought, what could symbolize the depth of winter better, than a twilight winter afternoon in the wilderness , with a wolverine in the high country . A hint of northern lights just beginning.

This drawing was big, as I wanted to give the layout person plenty of room to work with. It was way too big for my scanner so I took it to a professional to have an image made for computer .

All credit goes to JR Pederson. The wolverine reference was his own that he caught, and the mountains are all in the Alaska range that are part of JR's trap lines , or places he travels . Every one of those mountains are in JR's territory. I combined several ranges all together to get the image I wanted. I really liked the deep mahogany red in his wolverine , so I duplicated that , with some differences in “artistic license . "

In wanting to focus on size as much as possible, I faded out the wolverine's lower parts as well as the background, as photos and art is often portrayed when the whole image isn't necessary.

The original , along with a copy of Trapper's Post is going to JR as soon as I get an extra magazine.

Without people like trappers here, graciously allowing me permission to use their photos, I wouldn't have a paw to stand on.

Jack. Someday, my dream is to have a wolverine along with one of your articles .

Very nice Sharon. Always have loved the look of a wolverine. 100% spot on.

Very , very nice grin

If I could draw half as good as that I would be happy. Serious talent. I can't even draw a good TrapStick man.
