330 on/below the crossover. Go up and down stream and find some more locations where the otter are naturally traveling, like a fallen log across the ditch with a defined travel-way under it. How deep is that ditch?

Take your 220's and get you some fencing. Like hog wire. Fence up all the way up on the bank. Use at least 4 traps. Otters travel in pairs most of the time. You will also catch anything that travels up and down the creek. This is how i set up here when trap thieves aren't present. Works like charm. Sarge

How deep is the water that's between the log and the bank on the left?

Remove the beaver then make a pressure set in the dambreak. If you dont take out the beaver first they will get caught in your pressure set and it may be out of commission when the otter comes thru.

The water is probably waist deep on the upper side a knee deep down stream. I am planning on taking out the beaver. An otter would be a bonus. I’ll try the crossover. It isn’t very well defined and then go down stream and find somewhere that’s already blocked or block it down. Will be gang setting. Thank you all for the advice. Thought about something between the log and the bank too??
Looks like he needs another year;-)

I agree with "waggler" but would use a 280 for otter. Yes, 280 is superior to a 330, but I noticed that's what the OP currently has. Like said above get the beaver out first, then if it's convenient to leave your otter sets in you will eventually connect with the otter(s).

Once the beaver are gone a pressure set is deadly for otter. At this location,I took the beaver out as nuisance in late summer, and made the pressure set without the trap. I added the trap to the opening over a week ago. Picked up this nice black otter today and re set the trap.
