That'll work fine for all meats. Just takes a few minutes. Also, for smashing garlic, nuts, whole peppercorns, etc. :-)

my son wanted to make some sort of flat steak thing it was cheap beef smashed thing , breaded and fried it was good , we had no such tool
I washed up a fairly new 2# dead blow hammer put parchment paper over the meat and hammered it down it worked well
I look at those meat tenderizers from time to time , but I mostly grind the tough stuff.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I flatten chicken breast between plastic wrap with a mallet tenderizer all the time it works great. I also do it with venison cuts till it's real thin, then I put cheese, parsley and jalapenos on it, then roll it up and cook on the grill. Take off when cheese is melted and cut into rounds.

I use a 48 blade tenderizer which works great. $ 10 at Walmart Yep, same here The hammer style tenderizers don't actually tenderize, they just flatten The blade style tenderizers will flatten by breaking the connective tissues that cause toughness in the meat
Gotta live up to the nickname...

Buy a pork loin. Cut off slices. Pound em out with that meat hammer for tenderloin sandwiches. Need someplace other then your counter top for the pounding.

Every household round here has those from yesteryear! Must work! They do seem like a staple in many traditional homes. Good point.
