Well I always wanted to tag out, I got it done and with plenty of time to spare before trapping season. 2 bucks and 4 doe, got the last one tonight. Rut is ongoing, so pretty easy to call this guy out tonight. No camo worn at all, been 3 years now, and just my summit cobra from 1997. Guns are ruger mini 6.8 SPC(Factory), leupold scope, CVA Optima V2 .50 Cal Muzzle Loader, Stock Scope, Barnett X350 Walmart Crossbow, red dot that came with it. Here are pics except 1 doe. All public land and done with the 2022 F150 Lightning All Electric Truck!!! Thank the good lord.

Hey, in GA they let you take 12. I did spread the kills around though to be honest. Just call chunk 1 5000 acres...goes up to chunk 20. Im took 1 deer from different chunks, left plenty of seed for next year.

@160 Yeah, they are like dogs comparative, but the bodies would be better if it wasnt for the 1.5 year average lifespan atleast in my area.

Now on to squirrel, quail and as many hogs as I can get before trapping season. Thanks for the kind words guys, I love it.

Deer are over populated in the vast majority of the eastern US.
The harvest could be doubled I'd bet and still the herd would be too big.

On the bounty thread, Matt, was all in on the "balance" of nature and how good natures balance was. Figured humans taking deer might effect the balance. Apparently deer hunting is different than control of other species!

Great job Matt! All on a WMA. Alsome!! Marten trapper, the biologist of all states regulate the amount of game you can take out of a area. Our deer, is not on the endangered species list.

Some of these comments amaze me.

First, I’m guessing our Southern heritage has developed a different gut and palate from our Northern brethren. I’m 54 and been deer hunting since 12. Killed I don’t know how many deer and only once can I remember worrying about it being too hot so I bought a bag of ice to throw in the cavity for the two hour ride home. Most deer are killed and taken home to process or to the processor. Bucks are shown off to friends and family. Never really worry about “too hot” lol.

Second, the South is loaded with deer. So many in fact, we all take a limit of does and “make sure” others get theirs as well. No dent in the population. 5000ac and 70-90 does taken a year and maybe 7 bucks. Within those 70-90 “does” there’s always a few buttons accidentally killed…still considered antlerless by reg standards. Got 2500ac we 30-50 does and about the same number of bucks.

Third, certain spots do have smaller deer due to too many deer. Other areas with a lot of agriculture produce what we consider larger deer 130+# does and 200-225# bucks…these are field dressed deer. May not be as big to what some Northern states consider large, but large to us.

A lot of the comments on this post that you guys don't understand are coming as a result of Matt's comments on other threads about populations and human intervention
