The nuisance squirrel won. Got in the box and stole the food and didn't touch the wires. Now I gotta try something different.

Acorns pierced on the triggers work as well

Make a pan for your BG out of corrugated plastic, the same stuff used to make all those election signs. Bend the trigger wires and slide the pan on. Reset as they are overly confident since they got away with it once.

Use a pan trigger conibear or a rat trap.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

What size body grip are you using? Have your box vertical and trap on top.

110, wires down, inverted NyQuil cup full of peanut butter slid up on wires, then bent to stay.

they are masters of getting past the triggers and getting bait until they're not LOL-but the weasel boxes with rat traps are excellent for them instead of using 110 conibears-like the milk carton style shown above-they don't miss the red squirrels like 110's do

Grey squirrels just do 10 bench press reps with the kill bar on regular rat traps then go.for a jog.

Knew a guy years ago.who.screwed rat traps to tree trunks then baited them with peanut butter as he was having bad squirrel issues

Next time I saw him, i.asked how it worked.

" Got a heck of a lot of woodpeckers around here, know what I'm saying..."

Sorry I shouldn't have assumed that he was after red squirrels-ya the rat traps are useless against the greys-110's work great for the greys-haven't had them get past the triggers on the 110's just the red squirrels

I once had battle with 100's of franklin ground squirrels. I was really amazed how they could spring a 110 with baited wires and never get caught. I tried all kinds of things with 110s and finally went to a 1 1/2 Victor with a cut out V in the pan. The bait was applied from the bottom and pushed up through the V. They were caught by the neck. That had a much higher catch rate than any thing else I tried. I have never tried to trap a gray squirrel.
