Probably waiting for the fur to become fully prime. Right now it's just red fox in the north, otter will come on soon. Early fur this year will be tough to sell to the fur market. Unless you tan and sell to the public that usually can't tell good bad or ugly unless they have something beside it to compare. Skin most with feet on this year, skunks, fox, coyotes, otter, marten, mink, anything with relatively furry feet.

In New York some seasons open on October 25, others, November 1. I prefer to wait until the fur is prime, regardless of when the seasons open.

Season opened on the 10th here. With work I just decided to wait till today to set. Set a small line of 42 traps today. Gonna put some water sets out tomorrow.
