This. Make sure that the bodygrip trap is stabilized and has enough room for the jaws to clear the bank. You don’t want the jaws pushing the trap away from the den when it fires.


You could also identify and setup the trails/runs that this animal is using.

One mink can make a lot of tracks going back and forth.
Mink at this time of year are solitary animals-the young have already moved on.
Set the hole.

You spose they would have two dens 50 odd yards apart thought I seen a hole but didn't look active until the snow came but I thought they were just hunting it

If you have the traps, set up what holes you find there. Never know which one they might use next time through.

Might have been a den at one time but I don't think the mink Is living in It. But I'm sure they might check It out from time to time. It's like a coyote den It's used to raise the pups but those coyotes don't live In that den once pups are on their own.
Set every hole you find and hope for a catch.

Set the trails coming and going from the den. I don't set the dens if I suspect it to be one. Mink are on the move constantly and have many shelter areas they use as needed..
