GreenPete - both of mine had that hose nozzle. It added to the undesirability. So glad to not have one now.

Another nasty gun - Winchester single shot 12 gauge with a 36” barrel. I carried it in my canoe while trapping muskrats and beavers. It was loaded with a 2-3/4” high brass duck load and I grabbed it out of my canoe and one handed it at a flushing drake mallard. The serrations on the hammer split the web between my thumb and forefinger. With a 3” magnum goose load it was downright unpleasant!

I have a 742 BDL deluxe for over 30 years. The only time it ever jammed for me was once when the extractor broke.
I reload all my shells (06). The key is to make sure to use a small base die when reloading.

I own probably one of the only special order left handed semi-auto Remingtons ever made. A guy special ordered it from the factory. He put $100 down at a local sporting goods store. When the rifle came in, after many calls and a registered letter, he never picked it up or responded.

The store manager knew I was left handed. He called me, asked if I was interested in the rifle? It sold for $265 back then. The manager already had $100 on it. Sold it to me for $165.

I forgot to mention the stock has a cheek piece on the right side and a left handed safety button. Shells eject on the right side of the rifle same as the right handed ones.
