No.Anybody that quotes you a price before grading your fur is a shyster.

I wouldnt say that. Most buyers arent even buying coon and I look for rats to be worthless soon. If its a true nose count with no cherry picking at least hes buying. Just hope he doesnt fill his quota before you get there.

Boco is right on the money…every collection is different and needs to be graded to get an accurate value. One time, I pulled up to the fur buyer and he took a look at the stacks of put up fur in the back of my tuck and asked what did I do?? He said I’ll give you $x nose count before he ever even looked at the fur…He quoted hatter prices for my shearable goods before he ever even looked at it! I told him to pound sand and sold it on auction for twice as much. Needless to say, he hasn’t had a chance at my stuff since! Groeny rocks!

If I don't want something, I don't have to see it to tell ya I'd give ya nothing for it.

They sounds like a fair price.Sold 4 beaver on carcass for $12 on large and $6 on medium another $42 in the IRA.Asked about rats and $2 is the price and he still has most of last year’s rats he paid $3-3.50 for.He had a bunch of coon that someone gave him.
