Some people spend all their time to shoot a buck with a big rack, some are happy to shoot a doe from their porch and some don't even hunt.

Apply that to how different people view sports differently.

I can (somewhat) see being a "fan" of a person. I do , Clint Eastwood but a team, I just cant fathom it.
There is an outdoors forum based on North Dakota I'm on. It's almost mandatory to bash a Minnesota coming There to hunt/fish but most seem to LOVE our Vikings crazy
So, why do some have an infatuation with a (team)?

I'm 100% with you , I just don't get it .......at all

My brother in-law loves college football .......isn't college a school where players leave afterwards and most never make it pro

Yup that is one of the greatest appeals of college sports.

Interesting topic. It’s just something you grow up with. I’m from Georgia so therefore I’m a BullDawgs fan. I don’t care for professional sports, although I have to keep up with the Braves to be able to talk with my Mom and Dad, lol!
Yes, team rosters change, but the fan base remains. I was a Georgia fan in elementary school and I’m a Georgia fan now. I’ll be a Georgia fan until I die. What most will find strange is I root for Alabama just so Georgia and Alabaman can play together for the SEC Championship. I want to see the BEST team win. If Georgia isn’t in it and Alabama is, then I’m pulling for Bama. In all the Bowl games that have an SEC team that play, I’m pulling for them as well…unless their state starts with an “F” I’ll never root for a “F” team no matter what!
My children were raised Georgia fans and now they’re raising my Granddaughter to be a Georgia fan, lol!!!

Howevah. You and I DO like the horse sports...think of all the bullfighters who put those other athletes to shame in sheer brave agility in the bull ring....the horse events .

I include them all, from the Steeplechase, to dressage and cross-country racing, endurance, all of them .

Those are a "horse of a different colah " that are great and fun for me to see wink

If your shoes were tied, you would know that in most sports it takes a very high intellect to understand the game at the level it's played in college and pros. Maybe you need someone like payton Manning or a defensive back to explain to you how intricate the game actually is and why most leaders of the offense and defense are very high IQ people.

Sort of... I guess. Except one is a game and the other has far reaching impacts on my day-to-day life.

It is one of the main reasons I always hunted, fished and trapped alone. I have to be back at noon to watch the game did not work well with my plans. I never ask them to go again. I never understood how some one would give up hunting, fishing or trapping to go watch a game. I have never watched a complete football or basketball game in my life.

If everyone wanted to do the same things there wouldn't be enough room for everybody. Variety is the spice of life. To each his own. Etc.

X2 lol.

I don't watch them anymore, tradition my butt lol. Those that play now imo have taken the tradition out of tradition. They took the class out of class and flat out stole the American apple pie and hotdogs. Ain't worth my time.

Was a teen in the 70's. Played a bunch of ball. How could I not be a Reds fan?

Family. Back in the day grandmother reserved Sundays for church, family dinner and John Elway. Really had no choice in the matter, I was already hunting so much the school would have expelled me if they didn't need my test scores to bring up the averages. Folks appreciated the Sunday afternoon respite from me burning thru shotgun shells and cleaning birds.

Y’all making sets or running lines at night? Or noon? Come on down South and decide do you want to sit in the AC and watch the BullDawgs play or go sit in 90 degree temps for an afternoon deer hunt. I’d be curious to see the results, lol.
Now with that said, all SEC games are recorded regardless of whether I’m gonna watch them live or not. If we play a no name team or someone like SC or Vanderbilt and there’s a dove shoot going on, we just listen on the radio or phones. You’ll know when GA scores by the hollers on the field, lol.
Y’all find it strange someone follows a team, we find it strange folks don’t.
