Drasselt… you guys have some dark black mink in your area of Alaskan. Here in Iowa anyways brown or a little darker brown. Nothing like the black color you have. Very nice looking mink . Look like the Black Ranch mink I use to raise. Marty

Good luck to the PA trappers, I hope we get some reports that the muskrat is coming back.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Good luck!! I am going to give it a try also. Never trapped either one, this will be my first time. Have about 50 #110's and chopped some saplings today. Scouted 1 pond and there is sign. Have some old single long springs also for were they will be needed. Good luck. I will try to post some pictures, if I remember to take any. Haha! Any pointers would be appreciated. I used to think that mink where hard to catch Once I learned there habits I began to catch some on a yearly basis . Mink travel along stream banks and bridge walls as tight to the edge as possible By placing your trap with the loose jaw against the bridge wall so that the mink travels over the the levers of the trap Mink are a narrow animal In order for them to fire the trap the pan needs to at a place where their foot will step on the pan .Also do what ever needs to be done so the trap pan does not wobble And have the pan adjusted so it sits level with the jaws not higher .The best teacher of where to set your traps is to get out right after a fresh light snow and see where they are traveling They can get into some very narrow places That is where they fid their food and that is why they travel those places Good Luck .
