WAs thinking about talking to my doctor about getting a stress test done. I went to the er a few nights ago because I had pain in my chest high on my left side .. ekg , X-rays and blood work came back ok. I do have carotid artery disease and high blood pressure ( blood pressure is controlled130/80) and I do take statins to help control my hyperlipid. They say if your carotid has calcification,, pretty good chance your plumbing elsewhere is as well. Am I over reacting or doing the right thing in asking for one in your opinion?

I had high blood pressure so high they wouldn't even pull my tooth and that was in the Philippines even Couldn't figure out why so high so got a check up and the doctor confirmed my blood pressure prescribed HBP meds. I took one and said no more and started researching HBP.
I come to find out that it was just a symptom of a bigger problem and that's becoming insulin resistant/prediabetes from eating too many carbs, in the Philippines what raised my blood pressure was spiking my blood sugar from gorging on fruit like an orangutang, pineapples and mangos and bananas and much more, all I could stuff myself with and I did.
Decided to change my diet when I got home and eliminated sugar, potatoes ,rice, bread and grains and fruit, my blood pressure is now normal, no more headaches, lost weight without starving at all. My skin cleared of exima I had all my life, up, I dont have to get up to pee six times a night no more. My joints dont ache anymore.
I think its a good start for anyone thats trying to get healthy and wont cost you nothing if it dont help, but I bet it will.

Yes be concerned. An MRI performed by experts in the cardio dept will tell the tale. Sounds like you have a serious cardiac issue. Follow up my friend!

I started to get chest pains in my mid 50's. Was told I would eventually need heart surgery and in 2015 I had open heart surgery to replace a bicuspid aortic valve. 3 years later I had 3 stents put in up to the aortic valve....I definitely felt better but not perfect. Chest pains still persisted. Finally in 2021 I had a gastroscopy which revealed an ulcer on my esophagus, the cause of my chest pain. I take a pill for it and still get chest pain when I try to exert myself but at least now I know its not my heart!
