Yep I have a couple. I really like them. I bought mine years ago and did invest that much. That is the going rate I think for them, depending on condition of course. Try get it for a little less but I don't think you will get hurt with that price to bad....

I also think it depends on the model. I think they made more than one. Better wood and checkering on some.

Depends. There are many different grades of wood and checkering. Full size or take down models.
The most expensive one I am familiar with is the 22 Magnum single screw take down, high grade. They can be found for around $600-$800 if they don't know what they have. That one is worth around $2400.
If it's a standard gun and not a high grade, and in very good condition, then I would guess it should be around $800-$1000 like TraderVic mentioned above.

There is a 1982 model for $655 with 23 hours left on gun broker. A 1972 model in better shape for $657 with 3 days left.

For a lever gun they are very accurate.

Food for thought, Henry makes a pretty nice 22 mag lever action. Not a Winchester but for a shooter they are just fine. Henry also backs their guns from every experience I've had. We own 3 Henry rifles and all are nice shooters and have good quality.
We also own a Win 9422 Mag . Very nice rifle.

If your buying it to make money its to high. If your buying it cause you want one then it all comes down to how much is it worth to you?
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)
