Hello All,

I have some Duke #1.5 Coil Spring Foot Traps and #2 Bridger Dogless Coil Spring Traps that I cannot get fox or raccoons to trip.

I have viewed several videos on setting them up and I have a trail cam that shows the animals walking on the traps and don't trigger.

Any suggestions or content recommended.

Cheers!

Pan tension is the amount of pressure it takes to fire the trap. If his traps are set at 5-7lbs, that could be the reason he’s not catching the fox. All my traps are set at 3lbs. I don’t miss anything, unless the jaws are cemented in during the summer months.
He could be dealing with frozen sets, I don’t know.

I have some poly fill under the pan so dirt doesn't get built up.

Guess I need to read up on pan tension, I did adjust and level the pan.

Thanks for your comments!

Great information, what tool is he using to bend the pan?

Is there another tool I could use instead of buying it?

Thanks!

He's bending the frame that dog is attached. Not bending the pan, as you say.
Use channel locks, vice grips or plyers

When you're checking pan tension, check it with the amount of polyfil you are using at your set.

When using polyfil, it doesn’t take much. I mean like very little to keep the dirt out.

A crescent wrench works really well.

You adjust the pan so it will free fall. . .drop at it's own weight and we'll be seeing your catches show up
