I'm in the market for a new ram 3500 Laramie crew cab long box 4x4 with the cummins diesel. My salesman is supposed to get back to me with price but I'm gonna figure she'll be north of $100 000 canadian pesos. What are you guys seeing south. Prices holding steady or going down?

New is holding, used are coming down in the private market but dealers are still holding the line on used vehicles hoping to not take the hit they have coming.

Bought a 2021 Silevrado Trail Boss about a year ago and things were crazy back then. There were little to no new trucks. I was fortunate, I got GM employee discount so I did save a lot of money and got what I was looking for and this after many months of shoping ...but what you are looking for is a big notch higher and I don't know if there are that many of those trucks around.

I walk by GM dealership every day and often drive by local Ford dealership still not too many new trucks. For several months they only had used ones, prices were high and no low mileage noted.

Interesting enough, I noted many more trucks at Dodge dealerships than GM and Ford. Not sure if it is the same where you are.

Good luck, hope you do ok.

It is crazy the prices. My 2016 cummins was $65000. I haven't got a all in price yet but I'm told if I order it today it'll take min 6 months before I'll see it.

We are to the point that If you have to ask how much, you can't afford it.

Negative inflation is unusual. I don't think prices will be coming down.

Going up 20% would put barebone diesel work trucks at around $100,000. I need a new work truck, fusterating to pay anywhere close to 6 figures for one.

Considering I bought my first 3 bedroom house on 2 acres for $47,500. 21 years ago in April.

I know some folks who live in Hawaii but fly here to do business with this dealer because of the affordability. No idea about availability but at least you can do some research on the website.

I don't see the MSRP coming down but as interest rates climb and money tightens, fewer people will be able to afford new vehicles. That may drive the dealers to be more willing to deal. Meanwhile your $ is worth less and less and if you are taking a loan the rate is going up.

Glad I bought my last truck in August of 2021. A GMC Sierra Elevation w/5.3 V8. Its the extended cab w/6 foot box.

A month after I bought it, took a trip to Virginia and to Florida visiting family.

It got 22 MPG on that trip total. Glad I bought it. Best ride ever.

Cost with my trade and discount was $46,500 I believe. My last truck at my age of 75. grin

Then I spent another $2000 for a capper that is color coded.

No pickup truck is worth that much. Maybe if it lasted 30 years, which of course it won't.

I bought a tacoma in December of 2020 for 36,600. I traded it in a couple months ago with 30,000 miles, shot tires and a shattered windshield for $38,000.

This nonsense won't hold.
