Found a recipe for soda bread that I've to taking a liking too. Start to eat time just under 2 hours. Skillet Soda Bread 3:1 AP flour to Cake Flour Buttermilk Baking soda Salt Sugar Cream of tartar Butter Hardly any kneeding. Ill get a few slices before reffing basketball tonight and snacks on the deer stand tomorrow.

Where do you source ape flour? He said AP, not ape. All purpose flour.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

3 cups AP(All-purpose Flour) 1 Cup Cake Flour((same as AP flour but you take out 2 tablespoons of AP flour and replace with 2 tablespoons of corn starch) 1.5 teaspoons baking soda 1.5 teaspoons salt 1.5 teaspoons cream of tartar 2 tablespoons of sugar
Turn oven on to 400* and place rack in the middle.
Mix dry ingredients together. If you have have a food processor place everything thing in the food processor and add 2 tablespoons of softened butter and mix till the consistency starts to look crumb like. If you dont have a processor, i use 2tablespoons of squeeze butter and mix best I can.
Put mix back into bowl and add 1.5 cups of buttermilk. Mix with a fork. If you still have a lot of dry flour slowly add more buttermilk till theres only a little bit of dry flour left. Transfer mix to a floured work surface . Kneed dough just enough to eliminate any dry mix left and form dough into a round shape. Transfer bread to a buttered cast iron skillet or baking sheet and cut a deep cross into the dough. Bake 40-45 minutes till a toothpick comes out clean.
Remove bread from oven and baste the bread with 2 tablespoons of melted butter and let stand 30 minutes before serving

Thanks SNIPERB, that looks tasty. I'll have to try that, maybe this weekend.
