It was remarks by Jerome Powell that caused the markets to reverse.

I should have clarified my comment to "for the week"

The markets were mixed for the day yesterday, with the bell weather SP down a tad.

The pundits might say the job reports was better than expected at first blush but after further review the labor participation rate fell. Also "better" than expected job reports at this juncture in time give the FED more ammo to continue being hawkish.

As was pointed out by stinkypete the drop yesterday morning can easily be attributed to day to day volatility, it was barely a percent. Don't think for a second the average stock market professional is aware that severance packages are helping to keep the UE rate down.

Don't take my remarks a disagreement with your points. Fundamentally I think the market is going to see quite a bit more of a sell off.

Anyhow it was 10 below this morning, it won't be long and it will start to get cold out.

Please stay warm and safe out there 49er ! Tagged out , weather sucks, Dr won't let me fish until after kidney stones are busted up. Just rambeling LOL But still amazed at how markets sway on trivial facts. Yes for argument purposes they are raising only .5 instead of .75 . THEY ARE STILL going up and STILL are higher than 1 year ago...

Great comment attributed to JP Morgan when asked what the market was going to do. He responded.........."It's going to fluctuate"

He also said ......."I made most of my money by selling too soon."
