I use the rope method on my 220s. Never used a 160. My small ones I can set by hand. There used to be a cool bicycle chain setting tool out there, but I never got around to buying it. It ruined my morning when I got a 220 stuck on my arm. Be careful, lol. I use the rope method as well. The clamp seems easier.

I've not tried a woodworkers clamp. I use the rope most of the time but I also have an RTS and it works great.

Nice. Same concept just one that is actually designed specifically for the job. I'll ask Santa to put one in my stocking. Thanks. Y'all are a wealth of knowledge.

I use the locking scissor type.Fast. I can set them by hand, but its way easier with the setters.Especially when there is a big beaver in a 330 or if you are setting a whole lot of traps each day.

Get you a setter you’re asking to get slapped from experience it doesn’t feel good lol Santa's sleigh just made a pickup at WCS. Thanks for the replies. Always nice to hear the opinions out there from the knowledge base.

If you need setters to set a 160, I wonder if you should be using that style of trap. Thank you. I appreciate your input.

I can set pretty much all my conibears by hand, but have a couple sets of the scissor type setters, as well as the hook and bike chain setter's. I've used the rope through the spring eye as well. Always a good idea to pack (setter's) them with you, but also nice to know I can reset without them. I use conibears for ADC work as well as fur trap, so it's just something that is done on a regular basis. I have a mismatched collection of different brands of conibears and will eventually switch over to Belisle as I hear only good about them.

LT Grey Some of us older folks don't have the hand strength we used to have. Lighten up.
