Anyone know if the frame is the same width as the number 3’s. Was thinking about buying a couple dozen to try. The 3’s have been working real good for me.

FB traps are outsourced same as Bridger, MB traps are assembled in US. Might not have been able to keep up with production in the US so outsourced

Gotta live up to the nickname...

Anyone have info on why Cavens are having FnT / FB do these now?

So where are the components coming from and where are the traps being assembled?

It's simple business. Decrease cost of production, maintain or increase retail price, profits increase

I get the MB style overseas knockoff.

But why did MTP sell the trap to FnT ? Seems weird FnT is making a trap that has "Designed by Rob Caven" in the description.

Why not make it under the Bridger name and keep the money in house?

LOLOL Not sure if your being sarcastic. If not I don't think you'll be teaching any simple business classes in the near future.

MTP can't find people who want to work. It's pretty simple. Every time I ask a question about something they've only got one person on the shop floor that's working seems like. My guess is they still want to sell traps but can't find anyone willing to assemble them.

Bernie, clearly sarcasm isn't your forte. It is my sense of humor grin

Edit....nevermind maybe it wasn't sarcasm after looking at this. Here is the posting for the original US assembled version. $24 a piece. Now $32.95 a piece for the imported version

I think if I was going to spend $33 on a trap I'd just go ahead and order Jakes.

I like what was done with the Alphas. I would have preferred wire levers, but that is me.
That being said, there are plenty of traps that catch coyotes and everything else just as well for a whole lot less money. Given the current fur markets, unless you're doing ADC work, I personally don't see the value at the current Alpha prices and they aren't even coated.

I think Hammer was asking about the #2 FB Alphas. Not sure how much price difference there is between those and the #3s. Hmmm...off to Google I go lol

The 2’s are 28.95 a piece. I don’t think there was a #2 when they were American made but I could be wrong on that. So no way to compare original prices to now on that size

Assuming the same 37% price increase, if there was an original version of the #2 it would have been about $21 a trap

MTP didn't intro a #2 Alpha, only the #3 size.
