Though I doubt I will be doing any fur trapping this fall and winter, I still would like to go out and or help. if you are within an hours drive of Ames, IA and would like to get FREE (YES FREE) instructions in fur handling or to have a seasoned LOL trapper go on your line to help you with set, locations, general trapline knowledge, I'll be happy to help. I have trapped for 46 years in a row and have a good supply of knowledge on trapping raccoons, fox/coyotes, beaver, muskrats and mink, though as Pop said "If its got four legs we can catch it!" Drop me a PM, email me iowawildlifecontrol@gmail.com or give me a call 515-451-0843 Hope to hear from somebody wink ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/11/full-309-156832-pb040062.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/11/full-309-156834-pb060071.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/11/full-309-156835-snared_coyote.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/11/full-309-156836-p2040014.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/11/full-309-156837-pb050024.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/11/full-309-156838-pb140007.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/11/full-309-156839-snarly_tm.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/11/full-309-156840-od9.jpg)

I figure I know a thing or three about trapping and fur handling and would love to share before I forget or cant do it any longer.
I still love trapping but I cant do it at these prices, and I miss fox trapping in PA, though I like trapping beaver and coyotes, after catching them is when the work starts.

We had a decent fox population in East Central Iowa when I was a kid….. when there were a LOT fewer coyotes and there we still some fence rows, brushy creeks and field corners and guys weren’t growing corn out into the middle of the road ditch. Can’t blame em, gotta pay for and pay taxes on every square inch and margins are razor thin. Kinda sad though, Iowa countryside isn’t what it used to be. Pretty much a cornfield desert these days.
Don’t allow an obstacle to become an excuse!

You could get to my area within an hour if you take a jet, how does that sound? Mighty nice of you Mike. I hope a couple young trappers take advantage of your offer.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.
