i can assure you blain i aint no commie. the goal of any employee should be to do an honest days work for a fair wage, and secure retirement, after all, you'll be worn out by then. once i retire i can do more lucrative things like coyote trapping I am not saying you don't work hard. I am saying that unions and those in them are part of a system that stifles the free market AND supports politicians that want to raise my taxes, spend our money on welfare and take my guns. And, apparently, spend money bailing out union pensions--which is also welfare. Communists want to take other people's money, redistribute wealth, disarm the population and destroy the free market. I do wish you well in retirement trapping coyotes--you'll need that pension. i dont see putin taking small arms out of any russians hands or calling for more restrictions on law abiding citizens. I've bled in the service of my country, have you?

I agree with you one hundred percent warrior, all these anti union old guys are going to scream to high heaven when Medicare and SS go tits up in a few years. Then they will expect their children and grand children to foot the bill.
Wait and see. Anybody depending on Medicare and SS to take care of them haven’t been paying attention.

I worked for a company that where the Teamsters Union was part of it. After 27 years with the company i was able to retire (at age 61) and have a good pension. At this company there were no "easy" jobs. And the union did not protect the lazy worker. If you didn't do your job, you got discipline. Just like so many non union companies.

I always feel good Dave.
HT, there are a lot of people depending on SS and Medicare whether it's right or wrong or they admit to it or not.
It will get "fixed" until this country goes broke. A lot to the majority of even so called conservatives won't stand for cuts.
I'm not depending on it I'll work til I'm dead if I have to before I'd saddle my kids with providing for me.

SS gets paid into by everyone who is gainfully employed. Depending on it is another thing. Only union people pay into union pensions. When they retire they get SS everybody pays for plus a union pension everybody pays for but only union members collect.
If non union workers sign up for workmans comp they are required to look for work and lose benefits if they refuse a job. Union people are only required to accept another union job through their hall. The hall wont offer them work till person drawing tells the union they are ready to go back. They can refuse 17 non union jobs and still draw.
I have seen to many union companies vs non union to think union people work hard. They may put in long hours but nobody is busting but.

If want to join a union fine. but in some states if you want to work someplace union you are forced to join the union. Thats wrong in all kinds of ways
If unions want to offer a pension then dont fund it they should have to go bankrupt and distribute what money they do have equally to those whose money it is. Forcing taxpayers to fund a pension they dont get is wrong in all kinds of ways.
If a union member is drawing unemployment and somebody offers them a job they wont take, then they should lose unemployment just like the non union guy.
Those three things need to happen

If you don't like the policies set forth for a job (join the union,be willing to work holidays,,mandatory overtime etc.) then don't take that job.You want your cake and eat it too.The second part of your statement I agree with.I don't want to fund others peoples pensions through Gov. bailout any more than you do.I stated early on in this thread,,that I DONT agree with the bail out.

Danny, I understand what you are saying. I just want to point out that of all the taxpayer funded things, this is one that until all the other garbage is taken care of, lets be happy that atleast our taxes are helping our friends. Its like the unemployment thing, I get it especially if you see people everyday not working, it makes you feel like thats where all the money is going. Its not I assure you, what Congress spends on US citizens is actually pathetic all things considered.
Like put the shoe on the other foot, imagine you paid into a system that only the group of you did. Things were going great but because of something outside of your control that hard earned pension that gives you guaranteed money every single month is now in jeopardy. Are you saying that you would call the pension fund manager and tell him to decline the taxpayer funds that would alleviate the situation? Even worse, some of your closest friends want to say that you dont deserve it and that if the pension fund went under, time to get back to work. I only ask that because thats exactly what you are proposing.
You mean like social security?
Act like a blank, get treated like a blank. Insert your own blank!
