you ever climbed up by foot or animal. I went up to a little over 11,000 feet by horse in Colorado a number of years ago.

Think the highest I’ve been was 7500ft climbing from 6000ft in NM. Don’t think we were about 7000ft in the Sierra Madres in Mexico. And don’t think I went over maybe 3500ft in the PNW. One day I’ll hit the 10,000ft if I find turkeys that high.

San Juan’s are beautiful, rugged and majestic. I can’t remember the pass on the Million Dollar highway going through them but I believe the elevation on the road was around 11,000 feet.

I have climbed Mt. Shasta, which is about 1 hour south of me. The elevation of the summit is 14,162 feet. I regularly hunt the local bucks between 7,000 and 8,000 elevation. We live at 3,300 feet. One of the trails in the local wilderness summits at 9,400 feet elevation, I have ridden through that.

I'm probably a mite higher but went low for safety. Was to lazy to look it up and went from memory. Now some of the state land I hunt gets up to around 900". You can't see where the glaciers stopped ther are amazing views.

Got up to around 9000 in CO learned about Altitude sickness then.

Depends on what base you count from...sea level, or solid base...

I half way drove , then hiked up Mauna Kea , Hawaii, in winter . There was snow all on the top, first time in my life I experienced snow, in leaving FLA. Go figure...Hawaii, not any northern state. Mauna Kea is , from its base, 33,500 ft , the tallest mountain in the world , above the Himmies. Above sea level, it is 13,803 ft.

It was a surreal day for me , in many ways. I spent most of my day up there, exploring around the observatories , and seeing neighboring islands far away floating in the sea.

As Jack says, life begins at 10,000 ft.

Hiked into these two a lot when I was younger. Pack sure gets heavy the last couple miles but its worth it. Camping on the side of the mountain is no fun. If your in good shape you get to either one in a day if you leave early.

Been in the Rockies in Colorado elk hunting. Seen 9500 ft. That took some getting used to.

Climbed Mt. Cook in New Zealand. I think it's around 13,000.
