I haven’t trapped in a couple years due to work but have managed to get some sets out this year and I’m picking up some fur now. I remember there being a place I could send dried fur to and get it tanned and have coats, hats or blankets made and they would say for example how many fox it would take to make, does anyone know where I could have this done? Thanks

Having fur from the same section surely helps, but remember that having something like a blanket made requires that all the pelts be cut down to the smallest size skin you provide. Matching colors, sizes and degrees of primeness as well as slight damages will all contribute to the appearance and cost of making something from your own skins.

I think you might be thinking USA foxx. I don’t know if they do that anymore or not. If I need something made that my wife can’t sew,,, I send it to wild things in Wisconsin. Fantastic work as well as service

Wild Things is great. I've had several things made from my fur over the years and they are great to work with and a fair price charged. Have some things under the Christmas tree right now they made for me. You won't be disappointed.

Fur does not all need to match to make a blanket, coat or anything else. It only does if you want it to look like one piece. I am having a sheared beaver blanket sewn up out of some dyed, some bleached and some natural beaver. It will be patch work. Like it was made from scrap. Here is a sea otter blanket done that way.

Thanks for the answers, it seems like there is a clear choice. And if I get a blanket made I’m not concerned that all the pelts match, it would more be to just say I caught everyone
