I'm planning a trip to the porkie pine mountains for beaver trapping . The main reason is where I live there is no beavers and when I was hiking I saw some great beaver country. since its my first time going after beavers I thought I'd ask you guys for some tips.

the harder the trail is the better the story

Make sets so you don't catch otters. Use some sense as to their travels.

Don't over think your sets but do the best you can the first time so you don't have to deal with educated beavers. Sounds like a great adventure in the making!

Good back pack or sled everything seems to get heavier and farther from truck when dealing with beavers.

Gerry thumb is healing and the nail looks like it’s coming back, he’s still trapping every day, make sure you use your safety.

My first 2 came from a float set (spring current inside a culvert, castor used) and a dive stick set. The ones set on their own in runs didn’t connect as well. Now I love using the dive stick whenever I can. Ice trappings a little more work. I also sit on the chesterfield in the evening and read a few books you can find for cheap or free on the worldwideweb….lol

When you get real frustrated just tell yourself their dumb rodents lol.

Take up smoking crack. Lots less addicting and better for your health than trapping

Lol. I reckon when God was handing out sense, the first trapper thought He said scents and that's where it all went wrong for us poor souls called trappers.
