I have an old Mossberg 12 ga. with the c-lect choke. I don't see anything like an adjustable choke available these days from anyone. What were their faults or problems?
I'm thinking it was more of an issue with the material the shot is made of. Choke couldn't handle the harder shot?

ergo, bibamus.

I have several Mossberg 500's. Some have removable choke tubes, others have the SelectChoke you described. I knew them as Polychoke....I see no difference in performance between tubes or adjustable chokes. Not sure why they're not still used, other than costs.

Very unpopular. If it doesn't sell, it goes away.

They were ugly. That's the only issue I saw with them.

My Dad's old Western Field 550C (Montgomery Wards Mossberg 500) has C-Lect Choke. I've actually run it across the patterning board and it ain't no joke. WORKS !!!

Just fugly.

I think this is the main issue. Just ugly. And as hippie said, if it doesn't sell it will no longer be made.

Mossberg bolt action .410 wears it well, is a squirrel / rabbit killer. The whole gun is ugly, but performs well.

It definitely isn't pretty. Mine is an old bolt action. It hasn't been fired in probably close to 60 years.

They worked but like others they were ugly. One of my good friend bought a new browning pump and had the barrel sent off before he shot it and had a poly choke installed. I shot a wingmaster and just purchased two extra barrels. That is how I solved the choke issues. This all occurred before screw in choke’s

I inherated my uncles Winchester 94 12 ga with a Polychoke on it and it does indead work, but it requires patterning to discern where the setting needs to be for each load.

My brother had a C-lect choke on a 20 ga. mossberg pump. I liked the looks of it on there. I wish I'd gotten that gun when he passed.

I have an old Ithica M37 (1950’s) with a Poly Choke on it. I don’t think they are ugly. I patterned it decades ago with various loads and they do work well. I think they are still made.
