I have to say that I did learn a couple of things reading this thread.

I mean this question can open a can of worms but it seems only a few religions have radical extremist and the Muslim religion is one of them. Is any man wrong for wanting to do what they believe to be right no probably not, but the issue with the Muslim religion is they don't serve the one true God, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. They serve a false god that pretty twisted and definitely reprobate if you know anything about the Quran. But the thing to really understand is that the Bible taught that pure religion is visiting the fatherless and widows in their affliction and to remain unspotted from the world. Many people of different religions practice this, and that is why so many have good run ins with folks from other religions, but the kicker is it must be done before God and the Father. These false religions don't have God, much like the practitioners of Judaism.

But do you respect/agree with them waging war for their beliefs?

I'm don't know how to convey my question properly but I'm questioning the premise of the original post. If you support Christians Waring for their beliefs, do you also accept them Waring for theirs?

And no other reason at all but their religion.

Comparing the two isn't a genuine question. One would be exercising the judgment of the only God that exists. The other is murdering innocent people to prove a point in a "holy war" lead by a "(g)od" that is a pedophile.
That doesn't mean that there isn't good people that have grown up Muslim all over the planet in fact there's millions.

We will go half way around the world to fight for folks to have freedom and fair elections but somehow are blind to what happens in our own backyard, or are we?

We pulled the trap line in the Texas Panhandle, then went and spent precious time with our middle daughter, fire fighter hubby, and three precious grandkids... and then beat feet 1350 miles back here to Northern Michigan. During the road trip, Donna and I listened to Christmas music. The reason for the season kinda music. As we cruised by towns in TX, AR, MO, IL, IN and then MI, we saws the stores and shops bustling with what I suppose are Christmas shoppers. The movie theaters are PACKED. Is there a new movie out? Usually around Christmas, there are several releases. So we arrived back to Houghton Lake, MI area which has a bit of snow, mid 20's temps and some stiff wind.

We drove all the way in one chunk to make it back for church this morning. To see precious saints who will once again gather together because God first gathered all of us. To be saved by God's Grace through faith begins is a gift of God (Ephesians 2:8) and to understand this (which was the Apostle Paul's prayer in Ephesians) means when you hear questions like brother Chancey asked, you have a different heart toward the answer than you would have according to your human nature. It doesn't mean as a follower of Christ that anyone is made perfect by the regenerating power of God's grace in this life, but we should with the Holy Spirit gifted to us, be led by the same power that rose Jesus from the grave.

That power never, according to the Bible, teaches or leads against God's Word.
So, if you think not going to church is the way to go as a follower.... doesn't mean you're not saved, it just means you're not being led by the Spirit in you. He'd lead you to Christ's gathering. The flesh, the world, and the enemy say "Stay home." The Church is the testament of God's power to the angles and rulers in the heavens (Ephesians 3:8-10) so we gather together by grace and in love, because God first loved us.

And that same power would not work against the Word of God in Matthew 5:43-48 where Jesus' teachings (Word) was;
"You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’
But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?
Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect."

In the Christian faith, it's clearly written in many passages of the Bible that followers of Christ are called and instructed to encourage, reprove, rebuke, and correct one another (other believers) and leave the unbelievers to God's hands. As it's always been.

This has been a good thread with honest, sincere posts from all sorts of trappers and that's all we can hope for in this life. Honorable conversation about those things that are really meaningful.

Hobbie I'd say that most times the reasons we are told we are going to war are not the true purposes. There were no WMDs in Iraq, the gulf of Tonkin was a staged event, the government and the Honolulu Sun had advanced knowledge of Pearl Harbor and the "facts" of 9/11 just don't add up. And don't forget the terrorist from 9/11 we're all Saudi's and none of them lived in Iraq at the start of the second Iraqi war. I saw Tucker show the world Thursday night how Jolen West(MK-Ultra) was the Dr that decided Jack Ruby was unfit for trial after he killed Oswald, then Tucker called out the CIA for it's complicity in the assassination of JFK. The intelligence community contacted Tucker on Friday and told him whoever told him that was breaking the law but would not deny the statements.
If you get a wild hair look up his most recent two shows from Thursday and Friday night. It's very eye opening.
