A couple years ago we had Temps down to -10 or -12 degree. The house is plumbed with pex and the Kitchen sink and washing machine water lines are plumbed in a outside wall and they froze. When it warmed back up every thing was fine. My pex is run through some type of manifold system where it each line comes out of the manifold individually. But if yours is not does your supply go to the kitchen or bathroom first and is the kitchen on an outside wall?

The main water line from the pump is inside. OI can't tell if the pex line is frozen or not.

Put some heat near it, I'm guessing you're froze up also.

Pex might have hard water scale build up inside the line, how long ago was the pex installed and have you been keeping up with the water softener/filter?

Are there water lines inside cabinets in your kitchen ? Open the doors and let some warm air in them.

Is it just the cold water or both H/C in the kitchen that doesn't work ?

Usually in instances like this you will find that wherever a water line passes through a hole in the wall or floor, that is where it will freeze first. It is because of the venturi effect when air moves through that hole. The air temperature drops because the air must move faster and at lower pressure to get through that hole. Bernoulli's principle. Same thing that creates carburetor icing

Look for places that might be happening

The lines pass thru the furnace room to the bathroom and then pass thru the wall into the kitchen. I felt the lines and I don't think there frozen I'll open the kitchen sink doors hope this helps .

If it doesn't help, then try a hair dryer right where the line goes through the wall

Also, leave your kitchen faucet wide open

Sometimes just a light bulb in the right spot can make all the difference you need. Good luck !

When I first took up house keeping, I bought a trailer and to my surprise, it was always the hot water that froze up.

I never did figure that one out....only thing I could think of was it sweated and that froze causing the water inside the pipe to freeze.

The hot water will freeze first- do you have neither hot or cold?

If you can get it flowing again, single digits shouldn't be too difficult to handle.
Fortunately if it is all Pex, nothing should break.

Be careful letting that bathroom faucet drip. You might just end up with frozen drains too,

I dump a couple gallons of super hot water down my toilet and all sink drains at least once a day in these temperatures. It's -42 here now. Do you have snow on the ground ?

Hot water molecules are moving faster and will give up their energy faster do you can see a faster drop

this is why when you want to make a steam snow/ flash freeze water at 30 below you take a pot of boiling water and toss the water in the air , if you did it with cold water it wouldn't do the same thing

for the OP if it could be frozen pex lines open cabinets turn on that faucet and bump that heat up cook yourself out of the house if you can blow fans under the cabinets get your basement temp up.

that is probably the cheapest option.

Especially with horizontal runs the Mpemba Effect will often freeze hot water faster

Heat lamp or heat tape time a milk heater if you have one. I banked the heck out of my place so far so good, I add to it each day we have -50 wind chill coming.
