Paul do y’all have power. We were cutoff around 6:37 this morning and are being told that it will be restored around 9.45am. Wral is reporting rolling blackouts. The only power in town appears to be at the jail/courthouse and the hospital area.

They do have generators but they have power from the grid. Everything around them has power in their vicinity.

Yes we are lucky so far . But I have a portable generator in my garage with a receptacle that will power my entire house with in reason.
People need to turn their Christmas lights off during this high demand.. BUT some never think of that until ALL the lights are off......

Fortunately, we never lost power. Perhaps its because we're on Tri-County??? My son lives on the other side of Rosewood and has no power. He's on Duke power.

I've been running off of the generator since before 4 am Friday morning. Power was restored at 2 pm yesterday but my main breaker failed and will not turn back on. Electrician was here about 9 pm last night but the lug screws were stripped in the breaker. Waiting now for the power company to pull the meter. They said maybe 6 pm this evening. This close to Christmas and with all of the wind and ice issues, I'm not holding my breath.

We lost everything but power, thank God. Its was zero this morning and had the power been off there'd have been slot of folks with frozen/broken pipes this morning.

Just got internet back half an hour ago but still no phone.

Dang DUKES can't even build a good power grid. They should stick to traps and pecans.

Duke energy turned our Power back on at 10:52. I’m expecting it to get turned off again in the wee hours of the morning.

The Charlotte newspaper is reporting that Duke has ended the rolling blackouts.

I heard that too. My guess is they'll burn your house down.
