In a CNN interview Democratic Senator Chris Murphy stated that the Senate should consider defunding police departments in states that refuse to implement gun laws. Senator Murphy used the recent Colorado shooting to bolster his suggestion.
Colorado had a magazine ban and other garbage.
people were upset that USPSA scheduled a National championship match in CO , the sheriff was ok with it and said it is not a priority for his department ,however even though no such enforcement or affidavit was required in June the CO department of wildlife said it would be required in Oct and that they were going to enforce the magazine ban on competitors they said do not bring any magazine above capacity into the state.

when you compete in a 140mm mag division or open you have hundreds of dollars in mags sometimes a hundred in one mag and you need a several mags so to have to buy all new compliant mags then make sure no where in your gear you have an offending mag and completely change your strategy on every stage.
the affidavit went beyond hey I don't think I have any offending gear to , I am stating with out understanding what you might consider offending gear that I am following all your laws I don't even know.
eventually when no exception would be made USPSA decided not to host the event in CO
