R.I.P... He went out with his boots on doing what he enjoyed, not a bad out.

I have slipped and fallen on some icy and muddy banks, now I need to count my lucky stars even more that I escaped without injuries.

May he rest in peace and trap the high country now

I took one spill about 5 years ago that I was being looked over at the time. Was going around a fallen cedar to check some rat traps. Using a limb for a hand hold the limb broke. I fell face first on the stab from another broken limb. Catching me directly under the arm in the middle of my arm pit I have a cabeals guide wear 3 in 1 jacket that has ton of pockets I wear because it conceals my shoulder holster plus I can carry lure/ bait in the pockets. IT IS thick and tough and prevented the spike from entering my under arm. If it had that's were I would have been found no doubt.

makes you wonder what exactly happened and how long he was out there before some one noticed he didn't come home.

I took a fall on ice out hunting a few years ago and it sure can happen fast.

Geez, sorry to hear. Think of all the risky moments, tripping hazards, falling through ice, concussions when we run traps alone. After each close call, and minor injury, I always felt lucky to have survived the incident and thanked God I made it home.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A man has died after falling from a cliff in Westmoreland County.

The call came in around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday for crews to respond to a rescue in New Alexandria off McChesney Road. The Westmoreland County coroner said a hunter was checking his traps and fell down a steep embankment.

He was discovered by family members. The coroner identified the man as 63-year-old Paul Berger.

State police are taking over the investigation.
