Well a few but never thought any of them including China better than the US. Always count my blessings instead of being a victim. US has it problems and each generation sees it different but being born and living in the US is a blessing and the best place in the world.

I never said anyplace was better than the usa nor do I think I am a victim.

Thanks for the reply. How small is your farm? The one I worked for was 52 acres. They rented a one room house/building for the 3 immigrants they employed and drove them back and forth each day. If your farm is much smaller than 52 acres I find it hard to believe you can't find kids to work it for $25 an hour!

The housing doesn't need to be much. By paying the much lower rate for H-2A workers you should be able to build a suitable shack on your land in one season.

It kind of sounds like you're making excuses.

If you need help figuring out the whole H-2A process I can connect you with the small farmer I worked for so he can explain the process to you so you won't need to hire illegals anymore.

America will pay Americans to not work, some are 2-3 generations into the system. Do the countries illegals come from have such welfare systems? But times are changing, illegals will be in the system right beside the Americans with none of them having to work to get a check. I expect this conversation to change over next few years. Why work when you don't have to? Then the folks who work hard and are taxed heavily to pay for the non workers give up, and join the non workers, everyone is then equaly poor. You own nothing and will be happy....

The pickle and tomato farms by me have cheap travel trailers parked in a circle around a yard hydrant. 2-3 porta johns, a tent with wash tubs and garden hose shower. The illegals only stayed til the crops were picked, 2-3 weeks. Then they moved north to the next farm. They have a seasonal route. Farmers hire the illegals for harvest and they are gone, so is any risk of breaking labor or immigration laws. And being CHEAP was the main reason.

Not everybody is going to be content with someone else setting their standard of living, I don’t care where you are from. Sure there are going to be some that will be happy with it but I don’t believe that will be most of them. Twenty-five years ago we had Taco Bell, now there has to be 20 Mexican food restaurants and several grocery stores. These are owned by the Hispanic community and they pretty much hire their own. They’ve gone into low income communities and rebuilt properties in extreme need of repair. They ain’t doing all that on welfare checks.
