A cone style suppressor is likely the best recoil reducing device you could ever put on a high powered rifle.

Thank you for all the info. I run a suppressor on a 22 lr and 30 cal suppressor on a .223. I keep moving it from rifle to rifle. So I just decided to get another or maybe several so I don't have to keep swamping.
Someone said why would you want to shoot a rifle without a suppressor, that's a valid statement.

Some would say, even kinda rude.

I have never heard of this. Last years was in Sept. I could not find a 2023 but I will keep a check on it. Apparently the first gas chamber can be made caliber specific. That might help with cans dedicated to a specific rifle.

It's at red hill range I think it is. guys from NFA Talk put it on. ALL the sound testing data is listed on the form as well open source. Guys bring their personal cans and guns to be tested and let other shoot. It's recorded tabulated an put on line.
It's a bunch of gun nuts that love the science. No sponsors or manufacturers putting out the numbers.

Decibel numbers are nice to see on paper but don't tell the hole story. Pitch and tone effect how we hear and preceive how loud a suppressor sounds. Higher pitch and tone will sound louder to your ear than a suppressor that has a lower tone that meters louder at times.

Guys bring all kinds of their cool guy gear and will let other shoot it. That's how me and my boys have got to shoot many things we would never have got the chance to. Like supresed desert tactical 338 lapua, armligat Ar .50 suppressed, lots of other rifles and handguns one guy brought out 4 machine guns. Hosting at my farm has some benefits I may go the the GA shoot if it's on a weekend I have off work.

Take it how you want to. Once you start shooting supressed unsupressed shooting becomes less enjoyable. Maybe not if you like loud cars and need the big boom and attention.

I think you misunderstood that comment. Many Europeans consider it rude to shoot unsuppressed by subjecting others to noise that is easily attenuated.

Very true on both accounts. I most definitely misunderstood(sorry about that) and your spot on about Europe.

There are a couple reasons that can affect shooting suppressed - one is the cost of suppressors. At roughly $1000 apiece and you commonly shoot five different rifles - some of us folks dont have $5k to dump on suppressors. Secondly, on some rifles the suppressor makes it difficult with the additional length can make them cumbersome. I hunt a lot off my ranger - at night. It is a pain in the butt fighting a rifle with a suppressor

My answer to that is short barrels when i need that and I only shoot one rifle at a time so I put the supressore on the one I'm shooting. They also make some shorter suppressors.


But it's also the reason every rifle I have does not have its own supressor. Well that and the irritating wate.

Yes sir - and the problem being swapping the suppressor is the rifle having to be zeroed again.

Mine never have zero change taking the can off and on. That's on 5 different rifles. My .30 cal cam is a Supressed Armorment Systems Arbiter and i use their tomb (thread over muzzle break) mounts. Its a muzzle breal threaded on the rear with a taperd secrtiin behind the therads. This keeps it tight and from getting loose when shooting. Now to go supressed to shooting un supressed there is some change in some rifles but none in others. But taking the supressor off and putting it back on has never effected my point of impact.

Right - but my son has a .308 and a .300 prc that he was going to swap the suppressor back and forth. If he sights the .308 and .300 prc in to use the suppressor and decides to hunt with the .300 prc and his daughter wants to hunt with the .308 and no suppressor - she cant because it would have to be re-sighted for no suppressor. That is using the thunderbeast.
