All we are talking about is cleaning metal. I have a recipe and make my own, but the bottom line is all you are doing is cleaning metal. If you don't mind the price, I am sure it works, but so will alot of other cheaper products.
I would advise against using Boresnakes due to barrel wear, except in extreme circumstances.
I have heard the bore snake argument , if you pull it harder against one side you could be creating added wear on that side , you are talking the wear from a soft nylon pull rope.
if you are carful to pull strait out the end it wouldn't drag on one side of the crown or another so it is very much context
for sure on your 1000 yard gun or your f-class bench gun a rod from the breach only but when you think about a 10/22 and cleaning it from the muzzle unless you have a hole bored in your receiver to push through from the back.
a spray and drop the weighted end through the ejection port to drag the crud out the muzzle
a glock pistol barrel spray some one shot and drop the cord through and pull strait , stop and re grab if you need to.
the likelihood of excessive wear is very minimal
even your 30-30 lever gun as long as you use a clean bore snake with a good strait pull out the end your risk is lower than never cleaning it and just "shooting the junk out"
I guess you have to ask what's worse a bore snake or an aluminum 3 piece rod from the muzzle ?
not everyone is going to have a bore guide from the breach with a Tipton coated rod and brass jags while that would be ideal some guns don't clean well from the breach.
pulling a clean bore snake strait through 2-3x a year on a 30-30 or a 22lr , I guess I don't see as a huge wear issue.
